yeah, but the other thing mentioned in this thread did not work for me.

There are simply to much vibrations in a diesel vehicle and I was worried about my phone once I had it placed on the wind shield.

I was looking for something more stable and this looked good.

As this is too expensive, I am doing my due diligence these days

Right now automakers in USA are not adopting it properly.

Righto. You can get it to work by chipkaoing a smooth plastic patch on the dashboard
I got one with an older car dock I bought few years ago. I did not use it back then. I remember seeing it somewhere during shifting. Cannot find it again
I am basically gotten used to relying on voice directions for gps

google maps of course. car's system connects to the phone through bluetooth enabling me to get voice commands through the car's speakers which help.
