Hi AllI have just installed a Dataone connection. However the ADSL light flickers for 10 seconds and then goes off for 10 min then flickers for 15 sec and then off. As a result the ADSL synchonization isnt happening and I cant connect to Internet. The BSNL guy came and said that because I have a CENTREX enabled in my landline ADSL isnt getting the Dial Tone and so cant access internet. Is there a way out in order to use CENTREX facility and DATAONE Broadband.Hoping for some reply and workarouund from your end

Google search " centrex"

INFO
Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd.

What is CENTREX ?
It is central office based communication service which integrates all your multi located Telephone lines (Existing and New) into a single highly functional communication group with more distinctive features without any additional exupiment (like EXABX) at your premises.
What CENTREX offers ? etc
Suggestion:

Even for a single Landline telephone with an extension, we are advised to connect the telephones after the splitter.
Also remove any static suppressor in the telephone line.
Whether it is one line or ten lines the audio line is isolated.

In Centrex I have to dial 9 first to get the dialtone and then dial the number, otherwise the dialtone isnt there. The BSNL guy said that the ADSL light isnt coming because I am not getting dialtone in my connection upfront. Any suggestions as to how I can get the ADSL light activated

You don't have to dial to connect to Internet.. in your present set up.What is your modem model? Please give details. there are more than ten models in use for DATAONE.
select your model here
BROADBAND MAIN MENU

It appears you have not seen the website at Calcutta telephones.
