My brother had ported his sim while he was in Bangalore from Jio /Mumbai to Vi/Karnataka as they had better prepaid plans than jio but ever since he returned back to Mumbai and has been staying here for the last 6 months or so
he has noticed how Vi Mumbai users have a much better data experience than his Bangalore sim for some reason, and weirdly doing a speedtest would connect to Bangalore servers first and then do a speed test.
Now today, i took him to Vi store in Andheri west,Mumbai and well the experience was a quiet Meh imo ,the employees wouldn't bother to tell about the features of the postpaid nor care to explain which plan she is selling us ,heck they even tried to convert my VI prepaid sim into a postpaid dual sim plan which would be roughly 830rs a month which also comes down to 10,790rs a year. anyway, i had to softly decline paying more for no reason sadly i somehow forgot to check which plan they were giving to my brother. and after coming home i realized he was given the 551Rs while i wanted him to get the 451rs plan.
Anyway, the actual circle change process involves following the same process as porting into a different operator, so the VI store employee sent a PORT SMS from his phone and then followed the same steps as it is to porting into a different operator
also to note was ,VI customer care were extremely reluctant on him to upgrade his connection to pospaid without going to the store ,even after i explained how we wanted a circle change otherwise its completely useless to him but they kept saying you can update things later and what not.
