Judit Polgar to retire from competitive chess | Chess News

I am not a fan of her. But this is one and only female name I kept hearing from childhood. (Except recently when Tanya Sachdev started coming in chess news)

She has beaten Kasparov, Karpov, Spassky, Anand, Carlsen and many other world champions (not necessarily champions when she defeated them)

She has been women's world no. 1 for almost 25 years.

Anand and Polgar trying out early version of Fritz in 1993!!

Did not know about her but her ELO rating is very low currently < 2600.

At 27, I doubt she can improve any more. Reaching heights of Polgar seems very unlikely.
