Chess World Championship 2008

I dont know how many here like chess. But chess world championship 2008 is about to begin in 3-4days.Its between Anand (India) and Kramnik (Russia)Anand has never won it (he lost against Kasparov way back in 1995). Anand did win it in 2000 (but without Kramnik or Kasporov who ran their own championship after split with FIDE). Kramnik on other hand has never lost it since 2000 (when he defeated Kasparov without losing single game). He even won merger championship of FIDE and classical chess c'ship(against Topalov with a huge bathroom controversy!).Last year Anand had won 8 player chess championship (Kramnik was 2nd) but Anand has recently dropped to 3rd in rankings, after a decade.(Kind of Nadal sitting 2nd behind Federer for years)So lets just hope event turns interesting for chess fans and for me hoping Anand defeats Kramnik convincingly.

I am a good chess player :cool2: atleast among my friends.......... How many rounds will be played between Anand and Kramnik......... I think now gary kasporov is a politician in russia i believe..........

12 roundsKasporov has stopped playing like since 3-4 yrs now but he was still best that time.In Russia, chess players used to play important part in politics!

LOL. chess and live?!! in mid-game sometimes it take 15-20 (can be even more) mins for player to move, what wud the broadcasters do? keep showing ads!!

I am sorry i wanted to ask you the timing whether DD sports is showing the match............. I meant when will DD sports will show these match glimpse of their moves which they normaly show it in their channel. That site is blocked in my office but thanks for providing that link to me.........

2nd game went in draw too (yesterday), today rest day. 3rd game tomorrow.
