so a lot of folks on reddit are installing flex on their old laptops and having a good result. i do not have a functional old laptop so i can't give it a go myself. but seems like a good option to recycle old hardware.

Tried with live USB on my 11 year old Dell laptop. Runs like Ben Johnson on steroids. Activated linux apps and installed libreoffice via terminal. Worked perfectly. Thinking of going for permanent install in future.
