Configuring Nokia ONT for static IP for Airtel Fiber

Hi Team I am using Airtel's Nokia router(without antennas), so I have been provided static ip by airtel along with few other details such as IP Mask, Gateway and I tried configuring my router.

So went into router page from 192.168.1.1 and then logged in-> Network Tab -> WAN and then changed settings
Connection Type : IPoE(Changed from PPPoE that wasset from earlier)
IP mode : IPv4
Nat : Checked
Service : TR-069 and Internet - checked
Enable VLAN : Checked
IPv4 Address : static(provided by Airtel)
Netmask : IP mask(provided by Airtel)
Gateway : same as ip
Pri Dns : unchanged as before
Sec DNS : unchanged as before
Ter DNS : empty

And saved these setting, rebooted the router once and still internet is not working.

Navigated to Status-> WAN Status -> Wan Link Status is coming as "Up"

Something I am missing here that needs to be done?

Airtel technician came but they didn't had any idea how to configure so they sent me the ip details on whatsapp provided by Airtel, can anyone help as I am not expert in networking settings.

@Rickysin I simply missed such an easy button, but once I deleted it and clicked on create new connection and selected IPoE, it still doesn't show any place to enter the username/password, directly it is asking to insert static ip, gateway, subnet mask etc, and under PPPoE it is asking to enter username password.

I was in a call with my one of city's top Airtel Fiber senior and he did everything we could in 2 hours, now he said try this method also else I'll drop a mail to Airtel that there is issue in Static IP config from their for customer and if required tomorrow they'll change my ONT.

You don’t need to enter username/password for static mode. Its only needed for pppoe.

For static configuration, i think airtel has provided you with ip, gateway and dns details. Just enter those and your connection will be good to go.

@Firephoenix same here. For last 4 hrs. The guy is doing something on remote. I don't think he has knowledge of doing it correctly. What I got to know, these people do not know how to configure it on Nokia routers. Mine is G-2425G-A.
I have also asked to change the router in that case.
My question to you was, do your internet works on PPPoE now after they gave you the static ip? For me, it doesn't work with PPPoE too.

@imdarkray So the person who was coordinating with me called me at around 10:30 PM and told me that in my city just for my particular area static ip's are not configurable, and this needs to be fixed by Airtel's backend team according to the update he got, and he said that it would be done by tomorrow 1st half and I need to keep my router in static ip mode only for tonight so Airtel's team can troubleshoot it, and if in worst scenario it doesn't work they'll change ONT.

Regarding moving back to PPPoE, I didn't selected PPPoE, rather I just clicked on Factory default and router rebooted and by default came back to PPPoE itself and internet started working, tried the same 4 times in last few hours.

Btw under WAN status I am seeing Tx packets travelling and getting refreshed but Rx packets are stuck at 0, so maybe something is wrong somehwere in settings only

could you tell me about "Gateway : same as ip" ? ....here same as ip = same as static ip?

@imdarkray Nope bro they even closed my request and have started deducting static ip charges also, but now I have raised another complaint for internet not working, lets see how they act on it and yesterday they told me that static ip charges have been increased to Rs.199+taxes.

How about you, if it works for you let me know the exact settings please, in my Wan Status the Tx packets are travelling but Rx that is receiving packets are stuck at 0, not sure where the issue is and even Airtel is not responding just delaying this, lets see, due to this even my pings have gone high

can you try .. ( lets say for example Airtel allocated you IP address xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx)

IPv4 Address : xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx
Netmask : 255.255.255.0
Gateway : xxx.xxx.xxx.1 ( here first 3 octets will be same as your IP allocated by airtel and the last octet will be " 1 " )
Primary DNS - 1.1.1.1 ( you can also use any other dns servers as you prefer)
Secondary DNS - 1.0.0.1

see if works ?
