confused between MTNL and cablewalla

Hi frnds,I need ur help once again. I have 2 questions1) I am user of triband in mumbai.I live in matunga,which cmes under sion exchange.Very soon i wud be shifting to dadar,which cmes under wadala exchange.when i shift frm on exchange to another ie frm sion to wadala,I hope i dont have waiting period for triband in wadala exchange. Will the transfer we done quickly or do i have to wait like how new customers are waiting for their connection.Pls reply....2) now when i shift to dadar there is a ISP broadband service known as Five network,which is provided by local cablewala,and he told me that hw wud be putting a switch at the top of my terrace.What does tht mean??? Is it worth to shift frm MTNL to five network... what r ur opinions????thnks and pls do reply though they are long.....

If u r shifting to dadar, r u sure ur new location comes under wadala & not Prabhadevi. Normally when shifting ur connection one would not be in the same que as for a new connection. I am connected to Prabhadevi exchange. I suggest u make a visit to the exchange meet somebody senior maybe the div eng for ur new area or even the PRO who sits in wadala about the waiting period. And if there is a waitng period then will get reduced if u buy ur own router.

When you give application for shifting present Telephone connection, emphasise use of Broadband connection also ( number of years or original reference when connection was given ).Probably the Telephone number will change , (and the account number ?)
Para two :If you allow some one access to your house/flat/terrace/portico etc without a legally binding document, You cannot ask him to shift the switch , when you disconnect. Like the TV cable connection you will find number of connections /cables being taken from your location. And legally he will claim " business Loss" "good will" etc. If you are in a flat complex consult your association. I am not a lawyer.
Para three :
Probably franchise of SIFY . Tariff /conditions appear same.

my friend shifted from andheri to kandivali, he specifically asked to transfer broadband line too. so just make sure u highlight it.line was transferred within 3 days (number got changed) and broadband got activated on new number after abt a week. he had to go to exchange once though to ask the bb transfer status personally.

Nope. I would suggest that u stay with MTNL. No cablewallah can beat MTNL. Check out my blog about Sify which I suffered for over 3 yrs, anyone following the same bi model will have the same problems which the customer will have to suffer.

yes!! its better to stick with MTNL unless u have an option to get reliable ISP like Airtel..dont trust this cablewallas..
