Connection not lasting 5 minutes

From POST NO 19.
Confirm NOBODY is using a phone in your house.
Sorry. I don't know the English language properly.
I want direct answer to a question.
Incoming calls where ? obviously in your house!
You have not replied to repeated queries about telephone in your house.
And never tried any suggestions.
Now you know why i did not give my email ID!!!
You appear to be new to Broadband.
Better set up the connection,as advised with the ADSL splitter,
or disconnect your Landline PHONE and use only mobile cellphone.

Looking at your DSL Settings screen, you could try unticking all except G.Dmt

Seems to have worked before for someone here

Plug in your landline to the phone cable, check for any crackling sound. Could be faulty wiring.

i dont have splitter right now .. and is there a way to know that this could be due to faulty wiring... coz i connected my phone and checked it .. the line seems to be clear...and thnks ... i will try ur suggestion ... and see.... but right now the connection seems to be sable .. i really dont understand...could this be due to bsnl server overload ?? or something ??update :ok i have unticked all except gdmt... let me see.....update 2 disconnects again...

There are endless possiblities. But you can eliminate them one by one.

If this has been affecting a lot of BSNL users... then the problem is with BSNL.
If it's happening just today, and has been working fine otherwise, then once again it could be a BSNL problem.

However, you can try and eliminate faults that can be tested by you.
The easiest... reset your modem to defaults. If you don't know your password, get the CC number from the BSNL website and call them when you can.

I have an MTNL connection. Rarely have any trouble. But the times I do, they get fixed by a quick modem reset. Modulation set to G.Dmt

It's tricky to check for faulty phone lines. You'll need to get a BSNL linesman to check them for you.
I've had line troubles during rains and once when a rat chewed off quite a bit of the cable at different places. Surprisingly the phone lines were clear without any disturbance.

Make sure you're saving the settings properly.

I'm not sure how your modem works, but after clicking on Save/Apply you also need to reboot the modem. Some modems have a Save and Reboot button too.

thnks ...but right now i will put the connection fault away coz its been raiing whole day today and i am getting variable connection...i would reset the modem tom ... i know the password... ok just tell me if i reset he modem ( i think , by pressing the reset button on the back ) wht should i do from there on .. ??i need always on connection and ... thats .. all...anyway thnks bro...
