Hi all!

I am considering switching from Airtel BB to a BSNL one because of better tariffs. Just before switching I wanted to be sure if I'm doing the right thing. I would like all BSNL users to help me out by answering the following questions:

1) Is the BSNL 500 Home Plan really that good as its mentioned in the tariffs i.e. upto 2mb/s?

2) Is the after sales service of BSNL good like that of Airtel?

3) Are BSNL engineers really professional in their work or just some 'gawar' people recruited into BSNL :P?

4) Umm... whats are the ul. download timings? 0200-0800 hrs or from 10 Pm to 8 AM??

5) Thats all

Thanks in Advance!

Before opting for Bsnl first check with ur exchange whtr port are available or not ,coz here in HYD i have been waiting for the past 6 mths for my home500 connection.Speeds are very good. They max out at around 230-250 KB/s.Dont expect any after sales service from customer care. Its the worst cc among the isps.Same is the case with Engineers. But no prblm u will hardly get any problems provided u get ur connection.Minor problems like downtime will be there.Believe me Bsnl is the best isp in terms of providing what it has promised but dont expect anything after that.Thats y i am still waiting to get rid of my vsnl connection.

Well to be frank I dont need technical assistance because i'm self sufficient  but the only thing is downtime. How much time does BSNL take to fix the problem? My society has ports for BSNL and Airtel both  so there wont be any problems where installation is concerned :)Ohk what about the billing problems. Have read a few cases of people getting bills upto 88k:O. I'm thinking of taking the BSNL 500 Home plan with unl. download at night :) Hope I wont be a victim of false billing :whistle:Thanks!

hey lakshya, i am also in noida. BTW, i asked bsnl ppl, they said that ports are currently NOT available for noida site. and u say ports are available? who told you. coz obviously one of us is wrong. :P

I live in sector 61 and most of the residents are having BSNL telephone. Our society has underground lines for telephone and internet for each flat. I assume that the internet line were laid down with the tel. lines :ashamed: I currently have airtel and and we cannot dial that cust. care ISDN no. from airtel :madness:. If you have any engineers no. then please give me the no. so that I can confirm and enjoy high speed net :P

lakshyak, the internet is delivered through the telephone line itself....!
