convert images into vector form

guys, is there any software to convert images to vector format?one example is adobe illustrator, but is there any other light (

had checked it out! it's offering it as a service i believe, what i wanted was a software to use at my convenience!

i believe an online service is great as you do not have to download and install! there are a ton of software which does the similar... i cannot recommend any as i have not used any in the recent times...

Don't know if it does bitmap to svg, but have you tried Inkscape. Draw Freely.?

Bitmap to vector conversion is a difficult, highly technical and time-consuming task. There is no program or utility which can vectorize the image you have into a perfect one because the software doesn't know what you need.
