Cops in India are now tracking torrent downloads to catch pirates

IIRC , private trackers are all about good seeding.
Yes , as admin said , why wait till someone gets arrested. Use VPN while they last , before some idiot security agency comes down with the "T" word and politicians starts banning them too.

It adds a lag yes. But for torrent downloading, it does not really affect the overall speeds much. 10% maybe. The privacy benefits are massive.
I do not surf with VPN. But I know folks in India who totally rely on VPN for everything. They basically put the settings in the router itself to ensure that everything is passed through VPNs.

I use a seedbox to download torrents and then download them using secure ftp. Speeds are actually faster than using torrents directly. No problem is seeding as well.
For public trackers, I use put.io (link in my signature) but I think they have stopped accepting free registrations now.

well basically private trackers are good cause most good ones are small and under the radar, plus extra security cause they are invite only and most the times even users don't have invites too so no rif raff gets in, 2nd ,most of the very good ones have forced ssl on tracker plus site so no peeping by anyone, don't consider the huge one with over 100k users to be safe. and even then you are really not safe unless you behind a encrypted VPN for that you have to pay up or get a seedbox tbh the best way to did it and ftp over ssl everything you want.
here are couple of free vpn providers have not tested them for BT but for censorship they are perfect. http://www.vpngate.net/en/join.aspx ^ you can also add you p.c or network as a gateway http://www.vpnbook.com/ ^ free and fast gets the work done, most likely also a tor exit node, no logs are kept.

11$. 225GB HDD. 100 mbps shared between 2 users. There is no download limit. Uploads for the server (2 people) are capped at 5TB after which upload speed is 10 mbps for the rest of the month. dtsleech.com
