I m so fed up with my decison to go with BSNL broadband ,Just last week due to problems in airtel billing i decided to go for BSNL..I need continuous net axx for my shares and stuff...After 1.5 weeks of filling the form :wall: a guy from telephone exchange came and installed the modem told me that the login and pass to connect will be told to me on phone after 2-3 hours,Its been three days i haven't got the login and pass details I went to the phone exchange and there no one have knowledge abt broadb except one who is on leaveI applied for 900+ plan,Can anyone pls temme how can i get this thing done :wall::wall:Also i came to know that in 500rs plan i can get downloading hours free at night,Is that really true What is the downloading speed at night(in kb/s)One more thing if anyone can make it clear is the downloading limit in 500 wala plan is 4 GB,Does this limit count even when we simply surf and not download and is there a way to check the bandwith usageI think form next month i wud change the plan cuz If with 900 plan i keep my PC on dling whole 24 hrs X 30 days the max i can get is 60 GB which i can get any more easily in 500 wala plan downloading only from 2-8 and also my pc suffers 24 hrs on :whistle:Thanx to all who read my boring thread,My eng is not so gud :redface:Any help highly appreciated

usually for unlimited connections username/password are stored in modem itself & you just have to turn it on to connect.for home500 limit is 2.5GB & speed is upto 2mbps(usually it is 1.6-1.8mbps) with 2-8AM unlimited usage in night.bsnl count data transfer which means your surfing/uploading in case of torrents all will be considered along with downloading to determine how much you have used.

Dude thanx for reply

1)the guy told me that they will call and temme the un/pass,there are two icons one for lan which is connected and other named as dataone in which i gotaa enter username and pass to connect to net

@for 500c plan is there any way to check the bw usage?

it means they have setup your modem in bridge mode.go to local exchange & ask some senior official.they usually have some register with username/pass in it.also 2.5gb limit is for home500 but i am not sure about home500c plan.to check usage use a bandwidth monitoring software like tautology bandwidth meter or watchwan or shaplus.set 1 program to monitor usage between 2-8AM & other for rest of the day.also check your usage at bsnl portal daily as bill will be made on basis of bsnl's calculation.

Ahh thanx man,I will get it done asap and from next month i will be going with 500 plan :yahoo:

Well .. For what exactly do you want to use the Dataone for ?Shares / Trading or Downloading stuff ?for Shares / Trading speed @256 is nuff.for downloading stuff Higher speed is desired. Max DataOne can provide is 8 Mbps (which is a business plan) other wise u got to live with 2Mbps ( woth 2-8 am free)Why I am stressing the usage point is that for shares and trading if you use terninal then a lot more bandwidth is used. I fear if you keep it on 5 days a week then u might just run out the limit if you down load a movie in a month. :)

U have taken a right decision to go with BSNL.In 500 plan the speed may reach about 250 kbps & moreTHe normal bandwidth is 1 MBPS. It is true that ur dowload limit counts when u surfbut this is very slow an average webpage is about 50Kb it can be more or less.

@Prankster:Actually i need mainly for downloading and i can do my stock work at office as well(I won't be able to go office this month thats y i am getting so impatient :P,If i go with 256 Kb/s plan turning computer whole day on)24 hrs) will download only around 2 GB Data while with 500 C plan just in 6 hours i can leech 6-8 Gb data easily,Pls correct me if i am wrong@avenger:Thanx for letting me know broBtw Bsnl is so sarkari i have been going daily to exchange but i am still not able to find the SDO,He is on leave and he has got the database for UN PAss and all the stuff :(Once the connection gets established from next month i will move to 500 plan,I hope that won't be a long torture as this one is ;)

member/pankajsh-rma/1. Please Go to BSNL Tariff page and select the plan suitable to you.2. You can use BSNL BB only from HOME. 3. You CANNOT use the same ID/PW from your office. (If it is an extension telephone possible same number at home and office. ). 4. You have to apply for a Business plan for use in office.
