all talks in blank air. police can reach him using the IP address. my ass. unless a high profile entity is involved, no cop is going to go through all the hassles of identifying an online user on the basis of just the IP address. they would have to collaborate with facebook, a possible cyber cafe and tons of other scenarios. what would they do if the guy posts the shit using a proxy? they just assume everything would be alright. bunch of assH.

What police meant is, even if person posts fake photos, they will first verify that crime was actually committed. Police doesnt mean that they will track back fake poster.

so if i post a photo of a car near a no parking sign. how are they going to 'verify' the crime? it is a freaking joke. EXIF information does not prove anything. it just give some people a nice way to have a nice time out on delhi roads. go out take a bunch of photos upload them on facebook and have fun. not the kind of responsibilities you should be handing out just like that.

personally i do not think DTP should encourage users to post images of stupid 'crimes' related to number plates and dark films. these are obvious crimes and well continues crimes. if these cars have survived for so long on delhi roads, the problem likes with the cops on the streets not the people who own them. these kind of charges should be tackled with on the road itself. i had prefer if DTP accepts only those crimes which are mmm more serious in nature. cops cannot be everywhere and some crimes are always going to be missed. the way it is, they have turned common men against each other. some are doing it for fun. others are going to do it for revenge (folks who are challened through this route). and some others are going to do it just for guilty pleasures. there is no freaking way that a facebook page can clean the delhi city of all dark films and wrong number plates. so this is just a wasteful exercise. they should concentrate on what happens ON the ROADS of delhi and not inside parkings. just my opinion.

To some extent u r right. But this is something new and worth trying. If it doesnt work well for couple of years (like catching really serious crime) then they can stop looking into it.But this is definitely worth a shot. Pics can atleast lead to some clues.

it is definitely a good move. but taking actions on pity stuff like number plates and dark films! there are two ways they could be dealing with it.either just using the info from their database and sending challans to the owner of the vehicle. individually visiting the owner's place to check the vehicle and then challaning them. first one is not where you have 'verified' the facts. second one is a serious wastage of manpower for DTP which is already struggling with the mess in delhi. that's what i am trying to say

their job is more about educating people to not break rules. instead, they behave like it is their duty to cut challans to make as much money as possible.
