yea abt the firewall its implemented only in certain areas
also it was implemented in our area coz we ppl from kandivli n malad wr havin lots of fun on lan
the cable guys used to say that bcoz we use lan for file sharing n stuff ppl cant access net properly which is purely crap
but coming to the firewall its nature is such that u can ping the gateway but nothing else
also if u can see anyone on lan they may b on the same router as yours

i dont hav file sharing 4 almost 2 yrs now & i'm stuck to sify 'coz da only othr option is mtnl triband which also does not allow sharingi asked da cto, he sayz dat sharing spreads viruses
