E-commerce sites offers very less discounts on exchange ?

Ok friends so many times we see some exchange offers on eCommerce sites like flipkart .
Give us your old phone and get a new phone now the thing which am wondering from long time is that
most of the time they only offer a very minimal discount on exchange of our product like say you will get 5 thousand discount if you exchange s4 for mi4.
And its not only restricted to mobile phones but i guess its the same thing with laptops also.
Some days back i saw exchanged offer on flipkart and the discount that i was getting for my 40 thousand laptop was 6 thousand.
I seriously feel they offer very minimal amount to us considering that they want fully working device/laptop.
what can be the reason behind this ?

Profit its the only reason.

They'll invest money on unused product procurement and would then need to dump the entire lot to some buyer
for re-cycle, plus the cost of logistics etc needs to be covered.

While I understand and personally feel, how hurt we feel when they offer 3-4k for a working Gadget which was 30K or more.

But thats the reason where sites like OLX and Quikr chime in, so if you have time, you can always sell on OLX etc and get more price.
