Excitel Broadband User Experience in Gurgaon

It has been pretty unstable lately.

aws services are crawly from last week on excitel HYD. It works but hell slow. Randomly it gets normal and then back to slowness.

also sometimes google services start to get slow randomly.

I am not going to renew excitel. too many issues

and it is being weird again. half of the web is suddenly not loading.

@Sushubh I can definitely see a dip in upload speeds, reduced to 100mbps only on a 200mbps uplink plan

lol. looks like my excitel was down at the moment. only realized it 3 hours later. some truck had destroyed the local box and excitel guys were already here trying to fix a bunch of connections. they missed mine. and i had to stop them to get them to fix mine.

strange.. same thing happened to me in HYD yesterday that connection was down for more than 4 hours (12 pm to 5pm) and then it came back online with lot of request timeouts and high latency.

planning to throw the connection away as 6 months left for validity of it.

moreover they are unable to fix high latency issue with aws services. and i think its the transit issue with TATA that excitel use. may be exictel is chocking the bandwidth too much by giving more number of connections

@Rickysin Tata Routing towards AWS is messed up. Tata IPv6 routing is worse (EU -> US -> JP -> SG -> IN) mostly travels around the world to reach India

If the problem is in the reverse path, then how is it Tata's fault?

@Lolita_Magnum a traceroute from excitel to singapore ip of aws shows following path:

Hyderabad => mumbai => some Europe city => paris => singapore

And those Europe ips are of tata. So it is clear messed up routing by tata as Excitel uses tata backend
