“Going forward, we would be upgrading what we buy. We would be buying more high-end gear, including Wi-Fi 6 and mesh routers mostly from these OEMs only,” he said. “We are looking at Wi-Fi 6 routers in a very big way. In our tests, Wi-Fi 6 routers have seamlessly delivered 1 gig speeds in a typical house environment.”

Since 2024 I have been hearing WiFi 6 hopefully now, also need Excitel to expand to eastern states as well

It would be great if Excitel launches 1 Gbps Wi Fi only with no FUP for 999/month.

Heck I just might get a second connection again just to support these guys and of course torrent to my heart’s content.

Airtel though super reliable these days blocks even relatively obscure torrenting sites.Excitel doesn’t even block over a dozen pbay mirror sites.

Repost with addition from 29 June 2026 : Suckers have removed 400 Mbps multi month OTT plans from their list. Can't see it anywhere. Guess planning for premium higher speeds up to 1 Gig plans launch? Also, the excitel.com website is also showing only 200 & 300 Mbps OTT & non OTT plans for all cities. Only my legacy (since 2023) OTT plan is there with 400 Mbps recharge. Rest only 1 month 400 Mbps is available without OTT.

Confirmed with the sales guy of my area and the 400 Mbps plans are indeed discontinued because as per him "users were complaining about speed issues". But I think the bigger play here is to remove all plans above 300 Mbps now and Introduce new ones months later like 500 Mbps & 1 Gbps with wifi 6 routers.

Check out the latest plans (shared by the sales guy) in Jaipur (probably PAN India as well) as of June 2026 :

Compare this to plans just a few months ago when 400 Mbps was still available :

TLDR : Excitel increased prices for base plans without OTT along with decreasing speeds and increasing prices further for OTT plans. But nothing to worry for me as I'm grandfathered on their 400 Mbps plan.

I'm still able to recharge and enjoy 400 Mbps plan for 12 months with 25+ OTT's at the price of ₹8400 including GST 😌🫴 :

TLDR : I haven't recharged in advance but this is how Excitel billing works, once you recharge a plan, no matter it disappears forever or whatever, it stays in your account if you're currently on it. People from 2017 Era are still recharging with cheap 50 Mbps plans in 2026. Until & unless you change your plan, you get to keep it for lifetime. No need to recharge in advance, it'll stay in my account forever.

@Kaiju404 Thanks for the suggestion bro, here I have consolidated all the scattered details.

Can someone tell me what's happening? Previously it was routing from TATA IN and then TATA, but now it's using Airtel too. Is it due to Tata's severe issues going on these days?
