On further comparison, 999 plan gives 150Mbps in Jio, while it gives 200Mbps in Airtel. I think Airtel is also giving access to some OTT apps for users of 799 plan (Jio in comparison, gives no OTT access for 699 plan). I thought I read that somewhere, but can't find it on the Airtel website.

Since my complaint was still open those JIO guys came to my place again.
1. Complete your existing data then it will work--told them it's already over.
2. Customer care can do---told them they are the one who sent you here.
3. Its only for the users who recharge now--why did I get unlimited data?
4. They called THD once again and again they were told that they do not have any update.
This is the same "BAD" launch experience all over again. None of the reps/CC are informed about what's happening with these changes.

Airtel has come up with 499 40mbps unlimited plan. I just hope Jio matches this offer in the 399 plan and changes it from 30 to 40 mbps.
There are a bunch of people out there fuming over the fact that their older plans have yet to migrate to newer ones ( this includes ones who opted for annual and semi annual schemes ). I don't want them to cause more confusion by making a mess of the basic plans since those are aimed for the masses. ( Their technical team is rudimentary at the most )

Please think twice before asking the Jio guys to come to your place repeatedly. We live in covid times with nearly 1000 deaths everyday.
Jio may not give you symmetrical speeds, but it is very likely they will give you corona... Keep safe....

Something strange happened. My old diamond plan just expired at 12pm. I had no other plan purchased or queued. Instead of stopping, my Internet keeps working and now it shows an unlimited data plan of 3.3Tb valid till Oct 5th. Speed remains 500Mbps but 50 upload.
