well they are just trying to make their service more accessible. just like twitter.
twitter has a deal with airtel (not free though) so u can use it through sms through a local number.

strange that google has not entered into similar deals. they do have some free mobile sms based services. not sure if mobile based search on web/maps is free through sms route.
Actually 0.facebook.com doesnt matter much, now that cheap unltd GPRS schemes are there.but yes for me who doesnt use GPRS much, 0.facebook.com cud be useful. but then vodafone is always late!
it is again not an authoritative deadline. just another date with a stipulation that any new service launch after this date has to be made on an MNP compatible network. and well we all know that all these deadlines are a freaking joke. as i tweeted. we customers are just getting tareekh pe tareekh (ala Damini).
