they do have it but its not enforced yet, have been downloading in excess of 2GB per day(an getting 80+ speeds on HTTP downloads) though speed tests and torrents seem to be limited to 520 or so.Perhaps it has something to do with the fact that my connection sees only about 3GB/month for 8 month a year...

exactly i am pretty sure i do more than 100GB a month. since the day i got this connection. never faced FUP. i guess they just keep it for safety's sake.

I have also not been subjected to Fair Usage Policy as of now. :touch wood: :)

1 mbps 24 hours is a good deal for people like me on 1499 plan. We will save 200 rupees and at the same time our day speeds will double. The downer is that FUP will remain stuck at the same 100 GB! :(Does anyone know if games on demand and PC secure will be free like it is now on the 1499 plan?If it is not free anymore, I would want to unsubcribe from it when I change to 1299 plan! Can anyone confirm this?

calling 121 is the only way to find out. i still have to make the call to change my package. i think i am paying 1999 for this package right now. would save a quite a lot after the plan is changed. but getting through to airtel customer care is a challenge i have left for my wife to tackle.

calling him right now

Airtel are a bunch of F3c$ers!

The customer care guy just told me that 1 mbps speeds will be for 1st 15 GB. after 15 GB download, speeds will go back to 256 kbps.

This is a joke..

If this is true, I will have to stick to my current 1499 plan.

What a bunch of liars! :(

EDIT : I just restudied the airtel TRAI tariff format for IPTV. It clearly states that Fair Usage Policy is 100 GB at the bottom. The 15 GB cr@p in the middle must be what happens when one crosses 100 GB. i.e. 0-100 GB full speed; 100-115 GB 512 kbps; > 115 GB would be 256 kbps.

Can someone confirm if I am interpreting this correctly? If anyone has a direct line to an airtel person who actually knows what he is talking about, can he clarify this 15 GB confusion??

That customer care joker must have thought that 15 GB is Fair Usage Policy! morons!

I am debating what to do NEXT. any ideas? :P
