are you really sure that the guy knew about the FUPs on IPTV plans? from what i see they are going to get most queries from regular broadband customers. so he might have given you that FUP crap. it would really suck if airtel has double FUP applicable on 1mbps IPTV users. makes no sense basically. now i need hayai to arrive in gurgaon asap!

I honestly don't know what the CC moron presumed.

That is why I posted and asked if anyone who had a connection to a "knowledgeable" airtel guy here.

I think there is going to be DOUBLE FUP. for eg. for 1299 plan. upto 100 GB - full 1 mbps speeds. then from 100-115 GB - 512 kbps; >115 GB download - 256 kbps. :(

right now on my 1499 plan it is upto 100 GB - full speed (512/day, 1mbps/night), >100 GB - 512 kbps.

Again, if anyone can throw more light on this 15 GB Fair Usage Policy, please post their thoughts/ideas.

If it really is that 1 MBps is for first 15 GB I will not use this plan. I will have to stick with my current plan which gives my 100 GB Fair Usage Policy!

send a mail to airtel presence folks. and wait for an answer. customer care people are very unreliable for correct information.

u asked them about Fair Usage Policy, too?

So, what do you think? Do you think 1299 plan is better or should I stick to my current 1499 plan? (assuming both give full speeds for 100 GB Fair Usage Policy)

I download through p2p 24x7.

i got an sms from airtel that they would soon respond to my queries. hah. first tweets now sms.

as for a plan for you i really cannot suggest.

i have to migrate to the new plan because i am paying around 1899 for it. the difference is too much!

but, if FUP for the new plan is 15 GB, how will you manage?

If you are able to have a chat with the airtel "people", do ask them about this 15 GB FUP confusion.

If this 15 GB FUP comes into affect after 100 GB, then it makes sense for you to migrate.

but, if the FUP kicks in after the first 15 GB, won't you have a problem?

i just saw their latest PDF file with IPTV plans which mentioned 100GB FUP. i guess i would have to verify it before i change my plan. it is VERY HARD to trust Airtel these days. HAYAI. WTF are you. (w here stands for WHERE)

I am assuming u are referring to this pdf file http://www.airtel.in/IP-TV/images/Final%20TRAI-Format-C-for-NCR-&-Delhi-for-June-10.pdf

The Fair Usage Policy is mentioned twice in the above pdf file. 1st in the middle which says 15 GB. then at the bottom right corner where it says 100 GB. That is confusing.

Do clarify with them. Also, ask them if the Fair Usage Policy will also include data downloaded during night.:|

If 100 GB Fair Usage Policy exists, I will probably migrate to 1299 plan as well. :)

What is Hayai? is it consumer based or for businesses only?
