So they have a similar policy to ours - except we wouldn't even mind if you did 20GB an hour on local DC++ (about 46mbit/s).

is 5 NET available through cable ops or directly one can approach them. do they provide connections between malad - dahisar in mumbai

what are the rates for unlimited plans

Fivenet uses cablewalas (on the website they call them "channel partners"). You can find both the details of their plans as well as their "channel partners" on their website Five Network Solution (India) Ltd.

do they apply the FUP

Having checked their website I can not find any references to Fair Usage Policies. For this reason I assume not, however you might be best to ask them directly by calling or emailing them, or possibly find out from one of their customers.

Yeah..ture...y was it introduced in the first place??..no others ISPs are there whioch dun use this policy??

hey buddy i have got the plan renewed for 512 unlimited the plan name is NEW HAPPY WAY 512 extra for 3650 [6 months]

i asked the person at the hathway office he said that 20gb is monthly limit if it goes beyond that the speed will be half for the remaining month and then back to original from the next month of billing cycle.

what happened to your issue. did it get solved pls reply soon.

Hathway publishes it's FUP fairly clearly here: Hathway : Fair Access Policy however depending on the latest tariffs (which do not seem to be published on the website), this seems to make Hathway a fairly expensive option. Unless I am mistaken, of course.

Compared to Airtel, it's almost reasonable: Airtel's 512kbit/s plan (Rs899) has an FUP of 8GB, and it's 1mbit/s plan (Rs1099) has an FUP of 15GB. In both cases, you go straight to 256k - at least with Hathway, you go to 512k!

Dont have a cow man. Just switch your connection.

LOL. But that begs the ultimate question: to what?

While MTNL may have the best plans at the moment, the quality of the connection and customer service seems to be going right down the gurgler at the moment. I may be wrong - perhaps it's just my relatives experiencing a bunch of connectivity issues :D
