Its not ESPN, even BBC/ITV has these irritating noise. We nearly have to mute TV to enjoy match :(.
Broadcaster should really do something to remove this noise

No BBC radio stations you can use instead ?

Just heard live commentary on BBC Radio, and sad part is vuvuzela noise is heard on that too :(

I ordered it on Monday night. The guy came and installed it on Tuesday. He took my old STB and refunded Rs 1000. Total cost Rs 5990 - 1000 + 475 (activation for 1 month - platinum pack plus all HD channels) = Rs 5465.The channels were only activated today (20 hours after installation). And after watching for 20 mins, all the channels stopped (301 no signal error, possibly due to rain). Quality was very good, 1080i. Only the 90 minutes were HD, the remaining time Shahrukh Khan was on screen with a note saying "match begins in x minutes". At this time I had to switch to Mayanti and John Dykes on the regular ESPN.Score wasn't being displayed in ESPN HD. The channel name was ESPN HD, and not simply ESPN!

Congrats for having TruHD. Will be happy to see full review along with pics.
But a few questions for now:
1: Did they changed your Dish/LNB too? If yes, is it bigger, elleptical?? Single LNB or Double LNB?
2: Did they provide HDMI, Component , RCA Cable?
3: Is it possible to downscale from 1080i to 720p? If yes, do you feel the difference?
4: Flipping the channel is as good as SD STB or more buggy?
5: Do SD channels look better than the SD STB?

Thanks

Company that provides World Cup feed is doubling filters to mute vuvuzelas - thestar.com
The company that provides the broadcasting feed for the World Cup is doubling its audio filters to reduce the constant blaring buzz of vuvuzelas.
Host Broadcast Services said Tuesday it also is encouraging the various rights holders to replace their commentators' microphones with its headsets. Those are more effective at filtering out crowd noise, HBS said. While the measures will mute some of the atmosphere at the games, HBS said it increased the level of the ball mics to provide some balance.
...
By Tuesday morning, the BBC had received 545 complaints from viewers about the constant buzzing sound of the plastic horns used by fans in South Africa.
"We have already taken steps to minimize the noise and are continuing to monitor the situation," the BBC said in a statement. "If the vuvuzela continues to impact on audience enjoyment, we will look at what other options we can take to reduce the volume further."
The broadcaster is considering offering viewers the possibility of muting most ambient noise while maintaining game commentary through the "red button" digital service. Viewers would push the red button on their remote control to receive the quieter broadcast on a separate channel.
The BBC will offer the option in the next few days.

BBC already provides 2 commentary - TV & Radio Commentary on its TV channel broadcast through its 'Active' service. It would be good to have another clear feed with that 'noise' :)

Ahh, that makes sense the Spain vs Switzerland match had lower vuvuzela sound compared to the previous games. Could hear the commentator little more clearly.Anyway the real sound test comes now when the hosts play Uruguay :)
