DishTV has responded to Tata Sky HD with a price drop. It is now 2990 with 2 months Platinum and HD package free. This makes it cheaper than TataSky HD now.

1080i is HD but its not Full HD.
1080p is the real Full HD as observed in HD DVD Disks or Bluray disks.
The so callled HD channels do not give you the same quality as seen in a bluray disc.
This is just a marketing gimmick used by DTH Operators.
You can always have your own research and verify these statements.

ESPN HD telecasts on 720p and not on 1080i as saurabh has stated.
Dont market Dish tv by providing misleading info.

Well dishtv is giving all the HD channels in 1080i format, and also they have some special arrangement with ESPN for providing FIFA world cup in Tru HD in 1080i format.

my tv has no equalizer! :D

may be u can get audio OUT to equalizer and control on that equalizer.

Diego Forlan should be a given a medal for stopping the vuvuzela's, last night. Only if it was for like 10 mins.

LOL he scored 2 goals against south africa.. so obviously most of SA ppl will go silent :D

Congrats for having TruHD. Will be happy to see full review along with pics.
But a few questions for now:
1: Did they changed your Dish/LNB too? If yes, is it bigger, elleptical?? Single LNB or Double LNB?
2: Did they provide HDMI, Component , RCA Cable?
3: Is it possible to downscale from 1080i to 720p? If yes, do you feel the difference?
4: Flipping the channel is as good as SD STB or more buggy?
5: Do SD channels look better than the SD STB?

Thanks

1. No
2. Yes, yes, yes
3. No idea. But 1080i is lower quality than 720p. I get it in 1080i. Don't know if that is a TV issue or STB issue.
4. Same
5. Much better, even with component cable.
