^^^Well said solid snake 4rd! well said!Only gamers like us will really get to know the differences in between higher resolutions like 1080i,720p,1080p.. and what does TS and other providers do? They happily fool the 'layman' to think Wow 1080i is better than 720p and so on.. but honestly the 'layman' is to be blamed for not getting information about different resolutions... Agreed TS HD is good news for Indians but still quite some distance to go!
it matters even if you are sitting 10-15',i can easily pick out the difference between 720p and 1080p on a 30+ inch TV
i play PS3 games and look out for these details
I was talking about regular TV, not synthetic stuff likes games where the resolution would matter much more. I have never said 1080p is bad. All I was trying to say is between 1080i and 720p, 720p is better for sports and moving images. Also, the perceived difference between SD and 720p is much more than between 720p and 1080p for a say up to 50" TV watching from 10-15' distance. The larger the TV, the greater the perceived difference between any two sets of resolutions.
most indian consumers won't figure out much difference between SD and HD but that doesn't mean we shouldn't get better services
SD and HD differences are apparent on the eye. Most humans will easily figure out the difference! The reason is that SD on large screens is not enough pixels per square inch. Where as with 720p, we already have enough pixels per square inch. Our eyes cannot easily differentiate beyond those pixels per square inch. And why do you think Indians won't figure out the difference between SD and HD???
