actually england team is like Indian cricket team.. Full of superstars and I dont know for some reason I hate both of them. I would rather like to see Slovenia to win.

Of course you're right, but we can never really tell what exactly we aer seeing given all the compression that can be used.
but you can easily have the approximeat level of clarity you are seeing
you can easily tell sifference between HD and SD
DVD and HD
720p and 1080p

I was just about to say if ppl cannot tell the difference between SD & HD then what is the reason to pay more for HD
Unless we are getting a watered down HD.
Didn't Tata make the claim few years back that their SD transmissions were DVD quality. When in reality it was just a less lossy SD compared to what the cable ppl put out.
actually everybody made those claims

I was talking about regular TV, not synthetic stuff likes games where the resolution would matter much more. I have never said 1080p is bad. All I was trying to say is between 1080i and 720p, 720p is better for sports and moving images. Also, the perceived difference between SD and 720p is much more than between 720p and 1080p for a say up to 50" TV watching from 10-15' distance. The larger the TV, the greater the perceived difference between any two sets of resolutions.
agree on most but if you have 40i inch or above TV 1080i is much better as hardcore users which look at details will see 720p stretched on a 40 inch TV so 1080i helps there
i know 720p is better for the clarity but it doesn't normally do the job on bigger tv's
SD and HD differences are apparent on the eye. Most humans will easily figure out the difference! The reason is that SD on large screens is not enough pixels per square inch. Where as with 720p, we already have enough pixels per square inch. Our eyes cannot easily differentiate beyond those pixels per square inch. And why do you think Indians won't figure out the difference between SD and HD???
what i meant was the the indian consumer doesn't worry about certain difference and normally even if they notice they don't care that much as SD is enough and paying more for HD doesn't sound good to them as they are satisfied to SD

and BBC/ITV commentrators are like Shastri/Gavaskar. If opposition team makes foul, their comments reflect their frustration, while if something happens from English players, they say it was a minimal thing. And today at end when there was 3-4 quick attempts by opposition for goals, BBC commentrator was so nervous that he couldnt hide his expressions.
