how does this answer my question? the songs are 2-3 years old. everyone knows that. the question is... why is he being targeted in india for stuff that was shot years ago and outside india. why is he being blamed for rapes in india when we are ourselves to blame for it? from what i see, we are just trying to shift the blame to something that feels nice and easy to criticize.

I think FIR against him is justified........ Or maybe not but this man had to be stopped There may be people who didn't know what kind of entertainment they gonna get and just for the sake of popularity of ******* singh booked tickets for themselves, may have not liked the style of performance and content.............. Got the refunds easy way now :)

so we start filing FIRs for acts committed outside the country? an act like writing and singing a song? and are you sure that he was going to sing the old songs with vulgar lyrics? what about his recent work done for bollywood? i suppose you find it alright to file FIR against people who you think might do something that might or might not be considered as a crime. if you go to a private event by choice and found something vulgar in that event. i guess half of the stand up comedians in this country would find themselves jailed up. also btw, why did not anyone bother to file an FIR against Sunny Leone for her show in India on the same new year's eve? why is she not being jailed for being a porn actress outside india? why is her acts committed outside india not considered immoral enough to ban her in india? why was colors allowed to broadcast bigg boss in india? who gave her the work visa to act in jism 2 and bigg boss? why is she not considered a harm to our moral values for what content is available featuring her online?

i am also not sure why the former students of xlri are not being jailed for this song... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gmnpDOLvP8kfrom what i see, this song seems to have inspired one of the act committed by the rapists in this specific case. this song was recorded in india. is available on youtube. is massively popular.

Vulgar language does no physical harm.
shitting on streets does.

Vulgar language can (and many times does) result in altercations, which in turn can result in physical harm :Boy Think:

anyone listen this one. i think i posted this earlier in a separate thread too https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8jwgXR2F0Lc

That's in completely different context. Usually it's anger that causes trouble not just words. Cuss words and even racial slurs are very often used in friendly contexts as well.

I myself listed 4 broad categories & the fourth category does result in physical harm. And like I gave a hypothetical scenario - But leave aside more horrendous crimes, have you never heard of lewd comments or songs resulting in simple fist fights, assaults before? And anger is the cause as you said, but it could be & in many cases caused by the use of vulgar language - Is it not?

lol. someone here asked me for proof that weed is not as harmful as ciggies. i am sure there are definitive studies online that would prove just that.

but you guys are just assuming here that vulgar songs ARE provoking rapes. this is the same argument that is used by ****tards in usa whenever there is a school shooting. ban the violent videogames.

no one takes them seriously. it's a shame that indian public is behaving like a bunch of pussies asking for a ban on a song that is like years old and no one but a few cares about anyways.

just because some idiots are as you say impressionable it does not mean you should ban things for everyone out there. as someone talked about earlier in this thread...

you did not ban shaktiman because kids were jumping off the roofs. you do not stop making huge buildings because some people jump off them. you also do not take away freedom of expression just because some people out there are 'impressionable'.

if that is how you are going to handle things like... there are shit loads of things that you would have to cover. we do not stop driving because people can die from freak accidents. you do not stop eating meat because some people can die from mad cow disease.

and you do not take my right to speak my mind or do what i want to do (as long as i am not harming anyone else) just because some people would do just that.

rapes are not happening because people are listening to honey singh songs. rapes are happening because a lot of us are brought up in a society where women do not get the same respect as men.

instead of banning honey singh for a harmless song, it is better you protest against the lack of action against the khap panchayats and the *******s who mock the sanctity of women kind on a daily basis.

EXACTLY the point we want to make! The song is in bad taste, and is full of disrespect for women. So if we cant stop the other "Forms" of disrespect instantly, we atleast shud not look to add on to it.

that song was recorded in pakistan. it was never released in india on CDs or whatever. it was never played on television as there is no official music video of it.

from that point of view, pakistan is apparently more liberal than india considering the singers of that song are living a perfectly normal life and they are well known and are often invited at public events to sing the same ****ing song.

Heard of Anti-social elements? When such elements are in majority in a place, such stuff will be accepted, rather than rejected. And i guess, i dont need to remind the plight of women in Pakistan. So for u, liberal means safety given by anti-social elements, or does it mean safety for women?

After answering these, i have another question for u......why do we have the rules against using abusive words on the forum? (May be it wud have been already discussed, but it seems i might have missed out on a lot!)
