Hello Friends,

Is it safe to upgrade the firmware of my modem UT Starcom 300R2U through the firmware provided by BSNL?

http://ssss-multiplay.bsnl.co.in:8080/ssssportal.war/firmware.zip

I read in several threads that this upgrade screwed up the modem of lots of users, so I am very much apprehensive about trying this out.

Has anyone from this forum tried upgrading their firmware, is it okay or should I avoid doing it completely?

Thanks!

Dont know if firmware is good or bad, but if ur modem is working fine then why upgrade?

Ya it's working fine now....so I better avoid upgrading it.Was just curious to know whether anyone has done it and if there are any added benefits in upgrading it.Thanks

Some members have reported that the firmware upgrade using BSNL self care software is faulty. Better avoid it or try a different source.

1.
BSNL Ut300R2U new model does not have Under Advanced options
under NAT: Virtual server/port triggering options.
( In PPP/PPPoE mode )
usually needed for Port forwarding torrent sites.

2.
Please download the firmware and upload at ziddu.com or link-removed.

3.
The hardware board is same as Beetel 220BX and many have tried to use its FW
but mostly resulted in a "dead" unit.!!
Try at YOUR OWN RISK !!

4.
IF IT WORKS DON'T REPAIR!
