I ordered a LG double door refrigerator on 8th Oct during BBD. They offered exchange value from 1000 to 2575 for my old single door fridge. I was already skeptical about this because they already calculated 2575 off in the final price. I was expecting that the minimum value could go as low as 1000 rupees because the fridge is almost 15 years old now but still in working condition.
Refrigerator was delivered yesterday morning and the delivery executive made all the checks and uploaded pictures of the old fridge for evaluation. The final price came out to be just 199 rupees . I was a bit disappointed, I mean 2575 rupees was not expected but at least 700-1000 could have been a reasonable offer. I cancelled the exchange and paid the difference amount of 2575 rupees.
Overall the deal is still very good for the price I paid after card discount but exchange experience was very bad.
Now I need to fight with their CC to refund me the pickup charge of 199 rupees for the old refrigerator which was added in the final price.
TLDR: Don't avail exchange facility from flipkart.
Is it me or like FK has gotten really bad just like mid-segment mobile phones post Corona. I mean it was bad earlier as well but seeing the number of complaints these days just makes one wonder if they are really the company to vouch for.
Flipkart has become somewhat of a nightmare now. Residing in a tier 1 city does help to some extent, as does using a credit card. However, I seriously try to avoid using Flipkart.
My last order was in 2019 but recently I used gift cards to buy some things. No bad experience, yet. For the recent buys the deliveries have been always before the expected date.
I had to return a clothing too due to size issue. What I have seen is they don't instantly assign a pick up date, Amazon does it better. Orders take time to dispatch too. I got the refund back to gift card balance by evening the day it was picked up.
I personally don't have any terrible experiences except for the two books I ordered last month (because I avoid Flipkart to begin with). They are openly allowing sellers to offer terrible quality "copies" of some of the famous books. There is no way to return them and customer care would recommend asking for a replacement so you will get a copy again. If the platform took the responsibility of selling genuine products, they would have taken some action.
I had to lodge a consumer complain against flipkart because they are not ready to agree that they need to refund me 199 rupees which was added as a pickup charge for the old refrigerator(the issue is explained above in this thread). Their CC acts dumb and pretends to not understand the issue, later they started closing my tickets without any intimation.
199 rupees is not a huge amount but big enough to feel cheated. I will refrain myself from availing the exchange facility from flipkart, so much drama for 199 rupees, not worth the time and energy.
I hope that filing a consumer complaint will help me resolve the issue.
