This is the same thing happened to me when i tune 9xm channel manually..But after some point of time sun direct added 9xm into its platform..

I am also facing same problem.. stb gets hanged if u watch those channel that we added manually..

My stb also gets hanged if I watch those channels which are added manually.

To solve this problem better first access any of the channels which we get from DD Direct TP's (i.e., KBS World, CCTV9 etc...) & then access those channels you're stb won't get hanged. If you access directly to those channels which we entered manually from channels (i.e., Sun Network Channels & others) which we get from sun direct TP's, then your stb gets hanged. Now my stb doesn't gets hanged.

I am not getting Isai Aruvi. I saw in some forum that if our dish antenna is set to insat4b, then we can access only some of the TP's of NSS6.

What is your location? North India or Pakistan? What is the size of the dish you use to receive Hotbird? 8ft or 12ft?

How can we add TPs after software upgradation?. Because Advanced installation is not available in Menu.

But then what do you think will be the Az and El ? My feeling is that it may not be possible to receive even if you have a big dish!

Just calculated the Az & El for Hyderabad for Hotbird 6:
(Calculation of Azimuth and Elevation angles)

Az = 262.2279 & El = 15.0998. 15 degrees elevation is hardly anything! The dish will be only seeing an adjacent building blocking its vision to the satellite!!

If let us say a 16 ft dish can receive it, it should be placed on a very tall building. The dish again has to be mounted on a ten feet high pedestal as the diameter of the dish is 16 feet and it is almost horizontal.

This is for Hyderabad. GOK about Chennai and even deeper south - Madurai!!

Furthermore, the signal is in Ku band. So obtaining and erecting a solid dish of 16 feet is next to impossible. Conventional holey C-Band dishes pass Ku signals through!
