Free GPS Navigation Apps for Apple iPhone 5

If your 3GS is factory unlocked, try downloading iOS 5.1.1 from a third party website and check if iTunes allows you to manually upgrade to it. I doubt it will as (like I said before) Apple has stopped signing the firmware now and you will need SHSH blobs from Cydia. Considering you were never on iOS 5, you won't have any saved blobs.

You can upgrade to iOS 6.0.1

Just ensure your phone IS factory unlocked. You will rendered without network service otherwise and may have to rely on third party unlocking software, or purchase a factory unlock online.

No body can downgrade iOS officially :D Apple has stopped signing iOS version lower than 6.0.1 :)

probably saying that the car itself was using Apple maps so crashed because it was given incorrect information?

Additions to some of my previous posts. I rarely update OS, but after updating my Android, i feel updating my iOS is a pain. Till now, i had never update my 3GS. I had formatted my comp, so in order to upgrade the 3GS, i'll be deleting the complete set of apps i've installed on my iPhone 3GS. Some of them are paid. I dont want to Jailbreak, because it deforms the original essence of the phone.

mmm from what i know, ios updates are painless. earlier you had to use itunes to download the huge installer. with ios5 you get ota updates.

you mean through wifi? nope, i think that requires the version to be atleast v5.0 or v6.0. i googled. since the comp is reformated, i'll have to delete all the apps. i hate this, so i started liking android.

considering all the apps are legit, you would be able to download and install them without any hassles anyways. i am not sure what is the problem with that?

oh can i install them back with Apple account, i mean the paid ones for free(since i've already paid/bought once)?

mmm yeah? as long as you are going to connect the phone with the same Apple account. you can use the same account on multiple ios devices and use the same paid apps on all the devices. it is exactly how things work on android. once you have paid for the app, you can download it on any device that is connected to the relevant account.
