We can get anyone's bank details if we bribe properly! So it is not hard by any means. ............

Exactly the reason why this UID/biometric project should be looked with suspicion!!

I am not comfortable with the idea of having every individual detail of any person at the fingertip of a govt officer. But at the same time,we have to understand these are dangerous times that we are living in and the govt has to balance people's privacy to people's security. Let's hope Mr.Nilakani realises the loopholes in the Indian bureaucracy and makes the system as fool proof as possible.

If credit card or Atm or others try to use this bio as one of the authorisations then it will help to some extent. Just simply giving a card it can be misused. But when it is used along with proper verification it should help. Just like how offices now use thumb impression as attendence.

So like even if you take my card and claim it was me, your thumb info will be different.

again read my posts carefully.have you watched this?
its even more esy to hack biomertric and this topic is about natgrid.for biometric post in uid

In India nothing can be done for "Piracy" and "Privacy"

Honestly, if you've been a google user for the better part of the last decade like most of us it's all moot. Privacy is dead. It's kind of funny because people still see Google/Web2.0 as this cuddle fuzzy bunny entity that out to "do no evil" forgetting that their corporations just like any other. All any half azz Govt has to do is make it co$tly for them for them to do business before they'll capitulate. Here in India, the thought of some Pan Spitting Cow Belt Bhaiyaa overseeing biometric databases is laughable if it weren't so alarming.

Tehelka - India's Independent Weekly News Magazine

so the npr is really about making you a criminal.now civilans would be fingerprinted and thier data will be stored via natgrid
"Eleven government agencies (including RAW, Intelligence Bureau, Revenue Intelligence, Income Tax, etc.) will be able to access sensitive personal information of any individual — such as bank accounts, insurance policies, property owned or rented, travel, income tax returns, driving records, automobiles owned or leased, credit card transactions, stock market trades, phone calls, emails and SMSes, websites visited, etc. A national population registry will be established by the 2011 Census, during which fingerprints and iris scans would be taken along with GPS records of each household."

India sets up Natgrid to speed up terror probes - Rediff.com India News

"NATGRID, incidentally, will compile information about every citizen in the country, not criminals alone.

It will have information about the citizen's bank accounts, her/his fingerprints, property s/he owns etc."

its safe to say that by 2011 india will be like totalitarian china, soviet union, north korea.

Well as far this info goes its really hard to implent also you would find ways to find loopholes in the system. There are a very few countries which have such tech prowess to keep continious monitoring of all information carried by digital media. With India having a vast number of internet users and telephone users it would be really difficult to monitor all such information on a 24x7 dedicated system. There is nothing even the CERT can do about this . The government will end up potentially end up spending millions of crores on such a dedicated sytem. To sum it up i dont think its ever gonna become reality. The Babus wont sign their own death warrant. xD

told you guys last time too.. the world is moving towards fascism... now just wait for a hitler to turn up and gas you in concentration camps. oh wait we already have the pharmaceutical and agri business industry poisoning the population
