frequent disconnections and low snr margins...

again gettin frequent disconnection from few days...earlier my line was corrected and i was getting gud snr margins also but from few days im not gettin good snr margin and also getting d/c frequently....my splitter is connected directly to main line... my connections are correct as ealier i was not gettin this problem...is this poblem from the exchange as nothin is changed by me but again getting frequent d/c and low snr margins....
 
First of all, here is my status!

Steps in order to increase SNR(I did and my SNR jumped from 12 to 32)->

1. Call babus by complaining @197 or 1504(I think by now every1 knows who they are)

2. Try to install direct cable from the place where MTNL has setup big boxes in ur society to your splitter.

3. Take babus to that place tell them to remove wires from big boxes to remove dust from contact terminals with help of polish paper or files

4. Try for any open slot(If feasible) and tell them to connect it to main terminals.(these are the blue mtnl pillars on edge of road where every1 stick advertisements, now turned red)

5. Put that wire coming from big box to your splitter directly(Do not make RJ11 socket on wall)

6. Do connections thereafter as per procedure

Enjoy increased SNR!!:thumbsup:

(This is very long procedure and time consuming, I wasted my 3 consecutive days in this procedure)

My line attenuations are still very high, does any1 knows how 2 decrease them?:wall:

Your modem is it UTstar 300R2U/ ?
can you select Mod to GDMT ? ( not shown in screenshot posted by you )
Can you access Advanced options virtual server/applications etc ?
The steps you have taken are good.
Do not make RJ11 socket on wall
If supplied by MTNL/BSNl will contain
PCB containing condenser etc which should be bypassed. Attenuates the signal for BB.
Hint ::Ssometimes the cable coming from Junction Box will have 2 pairs, and the unused pair picks up RF interference. check this too.
 
Friendsi have a SIEMENS C2110 modem for BSNL dataone . i am too facing the same problem but dont know how to check the snr rate. can anyone here plese tell under which column there is info abt snr rate.

It is UTstar 300R2U, but in mumbai MTNL sells under tag-name T-KD 318- EUI. Nearly 60% subscribers of mtnl use this same modem, but I never recommend this as it gets overheated after continuos running for more than 5 hrs.

To merge wire having 2 termininals into RJ11 which will furthur go into splitter, u'll have to use crimping tool to mount RJ11 male on 2 terminald wire.

These babus supposed to bring that tool but they always come bare handed, first their bare hands need to be filled by money then only they do the work:evil:

BTW, I am in Rohini, Delhi. I have been using this connection for more than 2 years, nothing is new at my end, no splitter issue, telephone line (voice) also seems to be clear) Pl suggest shud I do ?

Man u r damn lucky, If I would have got fluctuating dynamic ip like you, I would have opened dvd library at my house!:P

Most may not like this fact but Delhiites have always got things cheaper, whether it milk, bread, petrol, broadband etc. After all u cant expect all the babus & netas to pay the same as the rest of the citizens. After all everybody is equal but some r more equal than others :)Mumbai is always the milch cow

Anyone knows whether we can take this up in court or with TRAI or some Consumer Forum?
I mean there has to be a law against this differential pricing.Isn't milking customers dry in Mumbai a crime simply because we have no other Cheaper alternative like airtel?

We use to send Mass email Campaign Letters to the Telecom Minister before we all got 2mbps as default?
Should we try a campaign on those lines for same pricing across all cities?

BSNL has 2mbps Unlimited EVDO Wireless connections for Rs550???????????
