do u use usb to connect ??? if yes then this can be one of the reasons for unstable connectionuse the cat5 cable provided and connet ur router and LAN card of ur pc

does it happen only with link-removed? or is it the same with other http's and ftp's?this happens only when downloading? like suppose you keep the connection on for a few hours but dont download, does the connection get lost?

You can change the settings of winXP dialler to reconnect in as less as 1sec if the line is dropped....so that's no problem

i think u didn't understood me, yes u can configure xp to reconnect in as low as 1 second, but i said that windows do not detect when line is dropped it take 30 min to detect that line is dropped and when it detects the line is dropped it automatically reconnects it in 1 sec.

if u want to test u can do one thing, when the downloading stops (at 30% or 40% or any) try opening any website (like google) in browser, the site will not open, then manually disconnect the connection and again connect it, then again try opening google and it will start responding. this shows that ur line was dropped and xp didn't reconnected it instead u did it manually.... this is only drawback in bridge mode that xp dialler do not detect dropped line...

Go to your Sanchar Haat, tell them you are a junior networking engineer, and you have checked out your problem yourself. Just tell them not to use their ****in brains, and register a complaint for your line, tell them that the problem is of wiring and signal, not a hardware or software problem at your side. The problem is definately that of line disturbance (or something like that).

^Sanchaar Haat ppl near my place will, most probably, not even know wat a junior networking engineer is! Maybe they'd recognise the word "networking"
