BSNL Broadband - H 500
hi,I have a H500 plan. Recently I am facing very frequent disconnections during entire day...don' know what's causing it, informed the BSNL people about it...they are still to take any action...the following are my SNR and Line attenuation data...does these matter...DSL Status ----------------------------> falseLast Failed ----------------------------> 0 x00000000Downstream Data Rate -------------> 0Upstream Data Rate -----------------> 0SNR (Downstream) -------------------> 0.0 dBSNR (Upstream) -----------------------> 0 dB Line Attentuation(Downstream) ----> 30.5 dBLine Attentuation(Upstream) --------> 15.5 dBConnected Standard -----------------> Inactive

It shows DSL status false. Get your line checked. It might need replacement. Frequent disconnections are probably due to line problem.Also, if BSNL guys don't fix your problem, then call a person of higher post in BSNL. :)

Thanks for your suggestion

I think the connection was, as usual, disconnected when those figures were copied...i am providing the data once again...

DSL Status -----------------------> true
Last Failed ------------------------> 0x00000063
Downstream Data Rate ------------> 10295400
Upstream Data Rate ---------------> 861700
SNR (Downstream) ----------------> 8.0 dB
SNR (Upstream) -------------------> 12.0 dB
Line Attentuation(Downstream) ----> 30.5 dB
Line Attentuation(Upstream) -------> 15.5 dB
Connected Standard ---------------> Bis

Your SNR is too low. If you get this much SNR then it WILL get disconnected and connected again and again. I usually get SNR above 30(downstream) and 20(upstream). Better get your line checked. :P

the snr margins seems to be very low. tell the BSNL guys to get your line fixed.

these values are way too high.i think you should reset your modem to factory default settings & then configure it from start.here is the link to configure--
BSNL BROADBAND MAIN MENU

members/sudipta86/Surprised none asked what is the modem you use ! except @ whitestar_999. who has suggested the link to all BSNL modems.If you use a modem/router purchased outside mention it here. Post link for full ADSL screen shot showing SNR/Attn/Line Speed /Mod selected. etc
