I ordered a GadgetShieldz full body shield fir my iPhone 4 last month. When I ordered it I was skeptical about the quality and durability as it is not something I had used before. I've always used Zagg, BodyGuardz or StealthGuards shields before. I have to day I am pleasantly surprised and happy with the GadgetShieldz. The quality is pretty good and the clarity is awesome. It cost me a fraction of what I paid for Zagg or BodyGuardz. Not to mention the super fast shipping. I received it within two days of ordering it. I think I'll be ordering another one for my iPhone 4 and one for my 3GS too.

You received it in two days? Where did it ship from? And is it easy to apply?i am pretty sure I will mess up the install.

I found out they have an eBay store. Ordered the front & back shields for my iPhone 4 for Rs 299. Shipping was free. Ships from Chennai.

Here is the link to eBay:

Install was easy. Installing shields on the iPhone 4 is much easier than on the iPhone 3G/S because of it's flat surface. Mine lined up perfectly on the first attempt. You just have to ensure you are doing it in a dust free environment & clean the device well before you apply. I've applied shields so many times that it takes me less than 10 minutes to do the complete install.

This looks so difficult to install .. why we need to dip the piece into soap solution???The simple protectors with 2 layers which just require peeling r infact very easy ..Why would anyone use this?? Is this something special?

Actually these are not very difficult to install (especially on an iPhone 4). All you need is a little patience as with any screenshield application. The soap solution is required to activate the adhesive on the shield. It also makes it easier to align the shield to get a perfect fit. You place the entire shield on the device and then move it around to align, then remove excess solution with a squeegee.

Device protection films/shields like GadgetShields, Zagg, BodyGuardz, Clear-Coat, ScratchGuards, Wrapsol and others use a special 3M film. These shields are resistant to scratches and offer better protection for your device from bumps and scratches even in extreme conditions. They also tend to have a tacky feel which gives you a better grip on your device. Some of the companies now also offer dry apply options where you don't have to use any solution while applying the shields, just peel backing and apply. These also come with side protection strips for the steel frame on the iPhone 4.

The regular peel and apply shields you are referring to are made of a thin PU sheet. While these do offer basic level of protection, they don't do very well in extreme conditions. They also don't resist scratches as well as the 3M shields.

I've been using these on my iPhones for the past 3 yrs and I'm happy to say that all of my devices are still scratchless. This is even after I accidentally dropped one of them on concrete and it went sliding for a few feet. I took it home, peeled off the shield and not a scratch on the device. The shield itself was badly scratched though.

You should try them once to see the difference. If you do decide to try, I would suggest you start with the GadgetShields as they are very affordable (Rs 299 only). If you don't like them then you won't be upset about having spent a lot of money.

Ordered it for the One X. Cost 399/- from ebay. They delivered it in two days. Finished installing it. Front and Back was fine. messed one of the sides because the side is so thin. wasn't very hard to install. have kept it to dry, will see how it turns out in the morning.

cool! zagg usually costs me 2000 bucks if i am lucky with the installation!

and is probably made up of the same material!

Have been using Gadgetshieldz for my devices for almost 2 years now. It's the same as Zagg or BodyGuardz. Lasts almost as long (if not as long) as the premium products. But considering the price, doesn't hurt too much to change frequently.
