Well its working now as well. Maybe they liked the response from people and let it be like that only.
And i have a problem.

I am not getting google news in this. This is my primary account and this problem is only in gmail. I get news on other google product. This is also not browser specific. But using other account does have news link

go to google news. click on the icon. you should get the option to add it to this launcher.

Nop There is no option because when i open news.google.com and open launcher i already have news there but its only missing from gmail launcher. For me launcher is different in gmail and other services

I added the icon from Google News. It appeared for me in Gmail.

Well what is did was to add photos in the launcher from news.google.com
Then i refreshed gmail. Now i saw photos as well as news in the launcher. But now news is disabled in gmail launcher

i suggest logging out and in!

Although i mentioned that this is not browser specific. Yet Logged out cleared all cookies and then logged in. Still grayed out

Lol. I guess Google has still not fixed kinks.

I dont see a way how to report this error to google
