It would have been great if Tata Sky show SKY NEWS , It is a better channel, i remember watching it when GORDON BROWN took over as PM of Britain in ACTIVE STAR NEWS , the coverage by them was exceptional. I will be happy to see FOX NEWS before US Presidential election but i doubt it if it can happen.

Heh, let these ppl get FOX and then make up their own mind :)

The worry is that Murdoch will do the same to what is/was a very valued (some might say the king) of papers, the WSJ.

But time will tell.

All news channels NDTV, CNN, Times Now have their own agenda, policies and bias. We all know how biased the reporting is. In one of the panel discussions (gujarat elections), Kuldip Nayyar said the all reporters have become analysts and editors; they have forgotten the basic rule that their job is report facts.

It is futile to expect neutral reporting. It is possible that in some cases, the channel may agree with us.

Sure, but in comparison to CNN, BBC, Fox is clearly skewed to the Right.

O'Reilly and his show is infamous.

Watch it and make your mind up.

Can't speak for any of the indian news channels as i prefer to read papers instead.

Look I am not trying to start an argument here, or deny people from watching Fox, or calling for it to be banned (as some people here insinuated). All I am saying is have an educated opinion and not just herald a new channel purely because it is American.

As for my opinion, I think the coming of Fox News is another slap in our collective faces with regard to the trend of us becoming extremely Americanized. I am disgusted by the fact that PVRs etc. only show American movies 99% of the time (i.e. apart from the crap called Bollywood movies) and that channels like Star World actually trumpet the fact that they bring us the 'latest American shows.' I am not anti-American, nor am I xenophobic. I just think there is a very subtle (well not-so-subtle for me) yet fundamental shift culturally, and IMHO it's for the worse.

Fox News represents the worst in journalism. That is what I want to say. If you like it, despite that, good for you. It's your choice to watch it. But it's equally my choice to criticize it, so please don't tell me that I should just not subscribe to it and should shut up.

(And as for the matter that our news channels are biased, I don't think they are very biased, at least not to the degree that Fox unabashedly is. What they are are TRP-junkies, who sensationalize anything and everything they can use to further their viewership, which in turn gets them more ad revenue. As awful as that is, it isn't biased. It's crappy journalism. Fox is crappy journalism, as well as being biased).

When it will come to Tata Sky , i guess it will take many months as FOX require government approval but i don`t think it will come early as left will not favour it

Fox News forays into India via mobile; next up on DTH

MUMBAI: Fox News is foraying into the Indian market through Star India's mobile application Plus. Through the partnership, Fox News will provide international news content ranging from entertainment, politics, business, world, health and sports for Plus.
For further expansion into the Indian market, Fox News Channel has also tied up with direct-to-home service provider Tata Sky . The channel is currently awaiting regulatory approval.
Fox News Head of International Affairs Vipp Jaiswal said, "This is the first time that we are entering the Indian market through the mobile portal Plus. We will soon be available via mobile in other parts of Asia like Singapore, Hong Kong."
Star Mobile Entertainment SVP Viren Popli said, "Apart from other offerings, Fox News on our mobile portal will provide un-diluted International news which has a deep impact on India." On Plus, Fox News will provide news based content including headlines, which will link out to full text articles for users to browse.
Plus will be a gateway to the Fox News wap site, FOX News Mobile: foxnews.mobi and Fox Business News wapsite m.foxbusiness.com, through which users can access multi-genre international news.
Jaiswal further says that soon Fox will be providing audio and video news clippings for the mobile portal.
However currently Plus offers only 30 seconds of mobisodes of the daily soaps. Mobisodes are customised mobile episodes of Star's entertainment channels available on Plus.
Star Mobile Entertainment has also tied up with mobile phone hand set manufacturer Sony Ericsson to bring its mobile content services to users of this brand of handsets.
As per the tie-up, Plus application will be exclusively pre-embedded in a range of Sony Ericsson phones in India.
