Is American Audio good company? Never heard of it. Would buy audio technica but they're too dull. Would buy them in a jiffy if it were for me.

Tekfusion Twinwoofer or Ecowoofer , I have Ecowoofer , having some issues with build quality , but that bass OMG !! Pure BAss

Senn HD203 was the only good suggestion for 2.5k. I am talking about quality. I hope you bought the American Audio crap for the looks because it doesn't stand a chance in audio quality.

Twinwoofers are good in audio quality, but their disgusting build quality is more than enough to stay away from.

American audio cans were quite good to be honest. Clarity was little low compared to bass but that's exactly what my friend wanted. Plus build quality was solid and cable length was just an icing on the cake. We're both happy with our purchase.
