Sister got an sms from hdfc informing about the rising service tax from 15 to 18%. first impact of gst on me. damn, i'd be happy to pay taxes if it means development but every year I see nothing changing around me. Road in front of my apartments have be dug up since 3~4 years now. Every time we complain, we get same reply. it'll be repaired within 6~8 months.

Telephone mobile internet bills would also increase by 3 percent.

I am however not sure about what happens with Swachh Bharat Cess and Education Cess and Krishi Kalyan Cess. Is it part of Gst or it would be additional to 18 percent.

Cesses to be abolished include Krishi Kalyan and Swachh Bharat. This would lead to a loss of about Rs 65,000 crore by the exchequer. To make up for this dent, the government would have to find resources from the budget.

Those cess will be removed post GST iirc
