First mistake google made was ditch "Orkut" all of sudden which was hugely popular in India.

Instead of ditching Orkut and focussing on Google plus. (Or google wave / buzz or many other failed attempts)

They should have simply renamed "Orkut" to "Google Orkut" OR "Google Plus" OR "Orkut Plus by Google"

And then shud have created new interface migrating Orkut users to Google's social platform.

I am sure noone would have stopped using Orkut and shifted to Facebook.

Unregistered the number from Duo and uninstalled it today!

Removed both Allo and Duo few days back. It was surprising Pixel allowed uninstallation. I thought both of these were system apps on these phones, turned out It's not.

i thought they were allowing uninstallation for most non essential apps on nougat? or maybe it was on pixel coz i cannot remove a bunch of google apps on my phone.

I had read somewhere that Allo and Duo would come preloaded on Pixel and that was the case. I thought as with all other preloaded apps, we won't be able to uninstall it.
