@jayming cool aint it ??? if you want productivity try touch note, Also "out of milk", search for magma mobile, the y got pretty good puzzle games, tanagram is mental exercise, try putting up calendaer on screen 1 really aligns yourself to the day etc etc..

I just didnt notice ur posts thru Tapatalk. It skipped those posts!
But yeah.....i had read it somewhere else on the Forum that Modding the phone void ur warranty. And it may give some glitches in regular performance. I thought all that.....just so that i dont have to wait for 2-3 months? May be if my phone wasnt promised ICS, i wud have gone for custom ROM in the end.
I know, u r trying to teach me "Walking" in the Android ecosystem, but i m not that "Grown up" for walking....
Hardly few days since i m using Android. Leave aside months.

I dont get much time for games on cell these days. I m busy responding to threads via Tapatalk, or may be on FB.....or searching for innovative Apps.

Actually it differs from manufacturer to manufacturer. For samsung you can use a tool called Odin downloader. Feed it a stock ROM (original ROM) which is freely available at samfirmware.com and you are back to what you got from the dealer as simple as that. It will take hardly 5 mins in full process.

Yeah, but as i said, i totally new to Android. If i do something wrong, i need to be good at tackling the situation. To b precise, i bought my phone on 25th Oct, and we still havent seen 25th Nov......u can see how new i m. And btw, let me also mention that this is "My First Android". SO i didnt have experience in any such device prior to this.

Ahh...actually when i got my first android. Very first day i rooted it and loaded an recovery. Plus i had experience on android for about 6 months prior to that because one of my batch mate have it and we had been continuously experimenting it. Till the time you wont dive in you will be saying the above statement over and over again.

Yeah, but as i said, i totally new to Android. If i do something wrong, i need to be good at tackling the situation. I remember the first time i flashed my phone using the Odin and the 3 keys combo did not work ( i could not make it work because of "my" inexperience) and i was scared for having an expensive brick in my hand !
(plus the looks my wife was giving me were not that very nice)

Actually you are correct ...enjoy the default ROM for atleast 1 month and then start playing around - else you will NOT NOTICE the difference in the stock ROM and Custom ROM
I would suggest you to to do the following things (in that order)
1) start visiting the XDA section for 15 - 20 minutes everyday and read a lot (tutorials, to do things etc)
2) See what all is being developed for your ROM
3) Learn - How to root your phone
4) Post rooting - Install few small apps and themes (baby steps )
5) Learn - how to install Custom ROm
6) Learn how to make a nandroid backup
7) Learn - how to rescue a SOFT brick (you will know the difference between soft and hrd brick by now )
8) THEN ONLY venture and try out custom ROM
