Hah, thats why i was asking, if u knew any way out of it! :D

Step 1 - go to http://www.google.com/contacts/u/0 - select numbers you want to appear on phone - drag/put them in my contacts
Step 2 - on your phone - contacts -> more -> display options -> Google -> un-check everything except "my contacts"

And you are done :)
 
Ok, i forgot to specify that the email ids of contacts come up in suggestions, only in Messaging! I had changed the settings for my contacts list, but i cudnt find such thing in messaging! :(
 
Just hope that the camera doesnt get fooled by ur pic, instead of ur face!

it's stupid to consider that a security feature. i would look at it more like a cool thing to showoff or a convenience feature.

Bang on.. Ice Cream Sandwich Face Unlock feature is already compromised with a picture instead of real face.

messaging should search through the address book on the phone. so that's weird. in any case, if you are a heavy user of messaging on your phone, check out go sms pro.
 
Ok, i have put that on install......lets see if it is more convenient than the original SMS app.
