Lolipop on Nexus 7 2013 lags. Not really happy with the experience. Hope it does not do the same to my phone (moto g) when it's released.

my nexus 5 feels like crap sometimes. the animations sometimes are just too much. hurts the usability of the phone.

Same here on my N4, lags here and there. AP has reported a lot of other bugs too. Hopefully 5.0.1 would nail these out.

Then how will Android One phones fare with Lollipop if Nexus 5/7 faces issues

yup. 5.0.1 should be a good update. in any case... google seems to have some differences between the devices.

nexus 4 i found out still has a black colored app drawer on lollipop! can anyone confirm this?

Yes. That's because the default launcher of Nexus 4 is not Google Now launcher. I use Nova.

Read here, that sideloading can be a reason for few of the issues with lolipop.
