Sent them a feedback. lol. Hope they fix it asap.

Thought of checking the web app for whether this bug is there or not but seems the events created from Google Now or Inbox don't appear at all on Web. Wow.

Righto. Hopefully the desktop edition would soon get a proper update with all the new functionalities and responsive design. It is one of the few remaining Google properties that has not seen any major UI update in a long time. It still reminds you of how ugly Google used to be before Larry Page took over.
