Man. I am not even sure what you meant by that. Google Talk is a free app. It is available on almost any phone that can connect to the internet. It's not like it does not exist already.
As I have argued several times before... There is seriously not much difference between popular IM services and these messaging services. I find it incredibly stupid that you are online on Whatsapp but not on Google Talk because you need mobile internet for both the services.
Of course, there is this point of you appearing online on Google Talk and no one assuming you to be online on Whatsapp like services.

What I meant was that Whatsapp is on Symbian, BlackBerry, iOS,, etc etc. So this babble will need to be available on these platforms too. I have loads of friends on Symbian and other OSes, and Whatsapp is the easiest way to chat with them, for me.Also I don't believe people will be willing to shift from Whatsapp as I see from my experience. A few people I know, with phones like S3s etc don't even want to shift to Google Talk.So all in all... Babble might not be as successful, initially at least.... O_o

Babble is going to be an app to connect to Google's instant messaging platform. I really doubt Google is going to switch to a proprietary protocol for the same. They currently use XMPP. Even Facebook Chat uses XMPP. And this is why third party apps can easily connect to the same network.
Apps like Whatsapp are based on proprietary platforms. Google is unlikely to launch 'babble' for platforms other than Android or iOS. But it's not like they are going to block third party apps from connecting to it. Personally, I prefer open protocols so that I can use a client of my choice to connect to it. I have used Pidgin for years for example. Do I really want a proprietary instant messaging app from Google? Not really.
Google+ Messenger is currently a proprietary platform. And that's why it is only available on Android and iOS devices. And that's why it is not used at all. Because you need both the parties to use the exact same app.

I didn't know that, and seems nice. Chalo dekhte h launch ke baad..:D

Personally, I do not think Babble would be the brand name.
As you know that It's a messaging service. That means people use it to communicate. The word babble, although oft used pejoratively, does means to talk rapidly and continuously. Then you have the word Babel which comes from the biblical story of the infamous tower in Babylon. I think it's highly likely it's a combination of both uses and not someone at Google spelling it wrong. Hearing it wrong in church makes no sense since both are homonyms |ˈbabəl| in modern English.
Bonus answer: There is no known etymological connection between the words babble and Babel despite both relating to language and speech. It looks to be a happy accident.

Right. Babel has nothing to do with communication. Babble yes. But both of these are crude words for something like a communications service. All the pointers currently are leading to Babel. Though I am hoping that it is a codename for the service during the development process and the final name would stick with Messenger or Talk or whatever. :
