Not sure wht it is or its purpose .. But I can even see my bravia when I scan for the wifi signals .. May be it makes tv also work as router so other devices can connect to it ..
I can also connect to my bravia wifi signals.. But not sure wht to do after tht :D
 
Wifi direct on smarphones are used to send/receive files just like Bluetooth. I have seen people sharing whole movies with their friends using Wifi direct in minutes.
 
Yup, but it doesn't work well with other phones. I use an app called 'SuperBeam' to send files using wifi direct. The other person should also have the same app though.
