Anyways. I would add my own comments here. I own a Nexus 7 for the last couple of months. It is definitely not dying. I do not use it as much as most people would so that might be the reason.
The problem I believe is the Android 4.2.2 update which has also been terribly slow on my Galaxy Nexus. It is a software problem that would be probably fixed in the next update.
Sadly, it seems that the next update of Android might not be released for Galaxy Nexus so that would be sad for me personally.
How is the performance of first gen. Nexus 7 in 4.4? Did they finally solved the problem?

Battery life is phenomenal on 4.4.2 ..goes down just 1% when in sleep for more than 10~11 hours. Battery life is biggest gainer and even battery consumption has become less. Now my nexus 7 lasts for 4~5 days on normal usage

Get a car mount and use it as GPS alongwith Sygic? A friend got a wifi 16gb version for the sole purpose and he's very happy with it.
I mean you won't be getting a good deal now that the prices have crashed.

i was about to do the same :P but then one would need to carry it around after parking :

It would also get fried in my car because of the heat in summers. I mean if I decide to keep it in the car 24x7. Makes little sense carrying it to the car and taking out every time I drive.
I am not even looking for a good deal. I just want it to be used and not lying wasted as it is right now. Anyhow.
