Google Photos is ending its Unlimited Free Storage from June 1, 2021

I guess a lot has do it with whatsapp fwd images getting backed up.

For my family members I see many useless photos getting backed up. And they dont care as its unlimited free.

Btw if Google can put one editing feature on Google Photos behind Google one, one can only imagine what else is going to become paid in the coming years.

google sounds like a startup that cannot afford to offer a free/low-end plan.

Unlimited storage to Google One users? Lol They are already paying for storage.. Just keep paying for that. Lol

I meant unlimited high quality storage, makes sense to charge for original quality

Although Amazon includes unlimited original quality with prime subscriptions

Only in the US or few other countries. Apparently Amazon used to offer unlimited storage for videos as well but later restricted it to photos only.
